SEMINARSThe 2009 seminar theatre was buzzing with high-profile speakers from IKEA and Elle Decoration, as well as essential trend forecasts from leading experts Scarlet Opus and Global Color Research. Online specialists Sitemakers UK presented a topical seminar for companies looking to get ahead online, while design curators Designersblock put a positive spin on the current economic climate by focusing on innovative ways to advance a business. |

Designersblock shows-off Puff and FlockLeading curators of edgy and innovative products Designersblock once again provided a launch pad for exciting new designers to show their works. Textile collective Puff and Flock attracted attention for their innovative and striking products at the DB stand. With products names Spiky, Woven Light and Solar Sanctuary it is easy to see why the Evening Standard also chose to feature this enthusiastic London-based group.

A very British show...interiors is proud to celebrate the works of key British Designers with the return of the Design Britain pavilion. Some of the key works from some of Britain’s key protagonists and design icons from the 1930s to present day were exhibited this year, including key pieces from Robin & Lucien Day, Earnest Race, Kenneth Grange and Jasper Morrison.

PRESSIn the news It wasn’t only the young talent making the headlines this year, Charlotte Thomas bespoke bed linen gained a mention in the Financial Times along with Armobil, Calligaris and Rachel G Art. Influential trend forecaster Victoria Redshaw not only filled the seminar theatre, but also featured in The Independent with a topical Dont Move, Improve article. Redshaw advices consumers to move away from the bland beigenes of recent years and start thinking of our homes as physical scrapbooks of ourselves?. She cites India as a key influence upon the trends for the coming year, with maroon and other colours of the Raj emerging. Victorias pick of the best trend-led products at the show included designs from ALF, GLPC, Coim, Koo International, Mollio, Ruiz y Sanchez, Armobil and Christopher Guy. interiors also lined the pages of trade and consumer magazines in the weeks leading up to the show. IDFX, Elle Decoration, Furniture News and Hospitality Interiors all carried extensive previews featuring a selection of the events exhibitors and their fabulous new products.
